David Barry Logistics (DBL) has a proud family history that dates to the establishment of our facility in 1996. In 2006, we took full ownership of the business, allowing our family to guide DBL’s growth into a trusted name in logistics. Over 20 years, two generations have helped shape the company, and we are excited to continue this tradition as we welcome the third generation into the business.
Our family’s involvement has been central to DBL’s success, ensuring that our values of reliability, trust, and personalized service remain at the heart of everything we do. We look forward to continuing this legacy for many years to come.
David Barry Logistics (DBL) has a deep history rooted in family legacy and industry expertise. Our story begins in 1996 when Brimac Transport, co-founded by David Constantine and Les Kehoe, first operated out of a 7,000 square meter warehouse. A year later, with increasing demand, an additional 4,000 square meters was added, allowing the facility to accommodate between 11,000 and 12,000 pallets.
In 2000, Brimac Transport merged with Westgate Transport, where David and Les became shareholders and directors. However, their involvement remained non-executive.
By 2006, with Dulux Paints relocating to a larger warehouse, Westgate vacated the dangerous goods business. Recognizing the potential in the operation and eager to remain active, David Constantine took ownership of the site and established David Barry Logistics. He was soon joined by his daughter, Sonya Constantine, and, unknowingly at the time, his grandson, Harrison Dowe, marking the start of a multigenerational family business.
In 2017, following David’s passing, Sonya Constantine took full control of the business. Despite the challenges posed by this rocky transition and the global pandemic, Sonya successfully guided DBL through these turbulent times.
Now, in 2024, David Barry Logistics continues to thrive, building on the strong foundation laid by David and carried forward by the next generation.
